I recently applied at a local phone company- the same one I tried to get a job with a year ago but was a bit late. well, every few days I hope on their site and look at the careers section waiting for new positions to pop up. finally it happened and you know damn well I had a resume submitted almost instantly.

well.. I know they got it and the positions on the career search are no longer available telling me that they have some people in mind, HOWEVER I have not received any sort of contact from them. I sort of find it hard to believe that someone else also happened to apply at the exact same time as me who would be a better candidate. I’m also amazed that the job wasn’t even posted an entire week before it was removed.

I suppose its only been about 3 business days, but I’m starting to freak out here. at the very least I expected a fucking interview.

through my resourcefulness I managed to pick up the email addresses to a couple of the HR people who do the hiring. I’m tempted to shoot them an email and ask why the hell they haven’t called me yet. Theres really no way I can go about it without looking like the creepy guy though. Hi.. I have an internal email address that basically only company employees should know.. anyway can I have the job or what?

what especially sucks is I’d actually be taking a pay cut by taking this job. so give me a break, I’m not applying for the money. ugh… guess this is the headache to get hired by a fortune 100 company.
