Ok well after fucking around with my desktop for maybe four hours I have come to the conclusion that it must be the mother board… or ‘maybe’ the cpu- but it wasn’t over clocked so that might be a little doubtful, especially considering the amount of fan action I have going on in the case.

the board is posting, but its giving a sort of memory code. anything I can find on this is very vague.. so I can’t tell if its the onboard memory on either the cpu cache or the motherboard… thing is abit has pretty much made my board obsolete now and you can’t find many boards that support AGP anymore so I had to buy a new mobo/cpu set.

I went with..

Intel Core2 Duo E4300 1.80GHz and ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA LGA 775 VIA PT880 Ultra. I had found that you can over clock this chip with this board to 3ghz if you can cool it. I’ll probably bring it to 2.6 / 2.8 - I had also picked up this ARCTIC COOLING Freezer 7 Pro 92mm CPU Cooler to keep it cool.

so hopefully I’ll have it all by thursday…
