so the other day I had an evening appointment, it was a 3-5 and in the notes it asked that no one come till after 4. everyone hates getting these kind of jobs because your ‘trying’ be at your last job at 4 and hoping you finish up slightly after so you can get off a little early.
I’m in the area and decide to drop by anyway hoping someone might be home or that I can recognize the problem from outside and fix it so I don’t have to come back at a later time.
turns out no one was home and I couldn’t fix it without getting in their back yard. I noticed a dog inside who was sort of flipping out after seeing me, so I didn’t want to go in the back yard in fear of them having a doggie door in the back or some way of the dog possibly escaping.
I leave feeling defeated.
I go back at 3:55 and wait for the guy- lucky for him he shows up shortly there after. I go inside with him only to find that the dog had ripped up a ton of shit. just made a gigantic mess in the kitchen- ripping up news papers, bibles, important paperwork and bills.
the man and his son start cleaning up. the son who can’t be older than 7 asks him as they’re cleaning up “what’s that, what’s this”. some of the answers where… that’s a torn up bible.. those are bills.. that’s pictures of your mom and me.. but my favorite- “that was my birth certificate” and “those were my teaching certificates”.
I was beaming inside knowing that had I of just came at the time I was suppose to this most likely would have never happened. oh well.
