one of the most common questions a technician will get asked in the field is, “how do you get a job doing this?” most people seem genuinely interested, thinking it’s a great job but they have no idea.
if anyone ever has any questions as to what it’s like being in the field please ask me, I have no problem offering you the knowledge you seek. I’m the product of a curious mind.
I still haven’t heard anything back from the teleco. I’ll give them till Friday then say ‘at least I tried’. if that’s the case I think I’ll start on some NCTI courses while I’m stuck at this company, at least that way I’ll always have a fall back job with cable- and should be able to start out with a higher pay rate with the extra experience.
monday is always awful for me, for most of us. I’m holding three jobs right now, after doing three and they’ve just given me three more. *sighs*. some ass I work with took off this morning without finishing one freakin job.. something about having to goto the hospital because his wife is having surgery. I’m sympathetic to this situation but he’s been gone from two fucking weeks because of this and guess who’s had to pick up his work?! yah thats right me. so today I have to pick up some of his work and then all of my own. what gets me is what the fuck sir, what are you going to do there? they surely aren’t going to let you next to the operating table while they perform a heart surgery so what the fuck are you going to do. sit at home and wait for a phone call? in the waiting room? what the hell.
monday doesn’t always start out shitty, it usually happens sometime between 1 an 3pm. today it happened at around 12:30
